Emirates Fined, Qatar Airways News & New oneworld Airline?
The United States has fined Emirates $1.8 million for illegally flying too low over Iraq while codesharing with U.S. carrier JetBlue. Meanwhile, STARLUX wants to join the oneworld alliance as it looks to fend off competition from U.S. airlines and other Taiwanese companies. In time for the busy summer schedule, Qatar Airways has resumed daily flights between Doha and Venice using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

All they need to do is form partnership with American Airlines, British Airways, Japan Airlines, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, Qantas Airways, Fiji Airways, and Qatar Airways as they can do it as long as they expand their network worldwide.

      @Hans-gb4mv 10 годин тому

      @@lenmetallica you file a flight plan that not only contains the path you will follow, but also the requested altitudes. And ATC usually allows you to fly on the requested, customary altitudes. However, when ATC tells you that you have to descent to below FL320, what are you going to do as a pilot? You do what you are trained to do: follow the directions of ATC.

    • @lenmetallica
      @lenmetallica 9 годин тому

      @@Hans-gb4mv that is not true. Pilots aren't trained to "follow directions of ATC". Pilots are allowed to deny ATC instructions and requests that they are unable to comply with. Emirates claims they had no choice due to safety reasons, so let's assume that was the case; so then why file a route where there is a real possibility of a violation and no real guarantee to remain in compliance? If you see a NOTAM that you must comply with, good decision making by a pilot and operator would ensure that they would take every possible step necessary to remain in compliance with the rules. All it takes is some other plane to have one small fault and lose their RVSM capabilities to cause something like this.

      When Bombardier spun off C-Series into Separate company, Québec helped recapoitalise that CSALP company with $1b in capitral for a 49% share. So project valued at $2b. When they donated 50% of project to Airbus, Québec's share dropped to 19% while Bombardier dropped to 30%. When Bombardier vanished, Airbus and Québec paid $685m for Bombardier's 30% stake leaving Airbus with 75% and Québec 25%. (CSALP now named Airbus Camada LP) After Bombardier vanished because it was unlable to fulfill its commitments to project, Airbus and Québec had to invest. Québec,s share was $300m and was politically damaging because people don't want the government to kkeep sinking money into money losing bankrupt company. So any further investment while Québec still a 25% shareholder are very hard to get. Québec's goal is to be able to recuperate the 1.3 billion it invested with what is now only a 25% stake in project. This means the value of project must more than double from $2b to $5.2b. Should Airbus invest by its own, Québecs shared would be reduced and it would be even harder for it to ever get back the investment it made. The union problem was reported here (Québec) for quite some time, and only now getting to youtubers who have always seen the C-Series as a miracle aircraft and were blinded to the real financial problems with the project.

    Boeing are their own worst enemy thats for sure and until they can get their act together i dont see them reaping any rewards in the near future especially with the continues delays in their uncertified backlog of models. There is just too much negativity from the head down and until that attitude changes i dont see how they can attract new large orders.

    That Boeing is "investigating" is like saying the wolf is sorting the chickens! Who in this day and age allows Boeing to investigate itself once again? The FAA is still bending over for Boeing and spreading! The learning curve of the FAA is frightening. The complete lie from Boeing that whistleblowers will be protected is once again trotted out and once again proving to be a complete farce. Killer Calhoun will put a price on anyone who speaks out. The oversight agencies are just winking and pocketing the bribes. This is the old Goebbels mantra, keep repeating a lie and eventually it will be taken as the truth. So it is "business as usual". Congress doing something?? Get real!! When one side has lied repeatedly then I choose to believe the other. In this case the whistleblowers have never been proven wrong against Boeing having never been proved right (not to even get into their suppression of evidence and destroying same). Doesn't take a genius to figure out that equation. That brings up the question, why does Congress even interview a proven liar? Why don't they subpoena the actual lower ranked people doing the job and who may actually be honest in their answers. Any question to Killer Calhoun is going to be met with a self serving , out and out lie, as is normal with him. It is like going to the Godfather to ask why the hitman carried out the contract. And then believing his answer!! Of course most of the important figures on Capitol hill are already receiving huge 'campaign' contributions from Boeing.
